It may be argued that the Distribution Center is a form of Warehouse. But the Distribution Center (DC) is different than a traditional warehouse because:
a) A distribution center is a larger facility, when measured in square footage, than a traditional warehouse
b) a distribution center takes on the role of facilitating the timed flow of inventory from shipper to customer.
c) A distribution center employs more people than a traditional warehouse.
d) A distribution center stores goods for the long term, while a traditional warehouse focuses on shortterm storage.
e) Distribution centers are located in urban areas, whereas warehouses are located in rural areas.
