On the next page is a skeleton outline of the development of President Lincoln's speech.
Parts of the outline are completed for you. Review the entire speech and then complete
the parts that are omitted in the book. You may not be able to locate two major and
minor details
for each paragraph. After everyone has finished, have a class discussion
identifying Lincoln's central idea and analyzing how he develops it in the speech. If you
are not allowed to write in this book, create your outline on a sheet of paper.
