want to keep the role of government too small, which is not aligned with today's
concerns."
Chief Justice Charles Evan Hughes and the rest of the court believed "the
programs were unnecessary no more since the country's economy was
improving."
The concern as said by Chief Justice Charles Evan Hughes was that FDR's
interpretation "virtually had no limit to the federal power; and for all practical
purposes we should have a completely centralized government."
