State Supreme Court Rulings Analysis/Presentation: Research, analyze, prepare and prepare a PowerPoint/Prezi 6-8-minute presentation on a key state Supreme Court case, accompanied by substantive Notes that would form the background of an actual oral presentation. Students must address the following: * identify the main issues of the case. * identify the problem or issue in the court case. * analyze at least in some detail one of the Justices' decisions. * evaluate the position of the Justice's decision. * identify the assumptions made during the arguments. * summarize the court's decision as a conclusion, present the facts, assumptions, constitutional challenges of the case, * present personal assumptions about the court case, as well as those of the Justices * analyze the implications for public life of the Court's decisions. Students will post the proposed slides in the Assignment box in D2L. Cite at least five credible outside sources (not the textbook or any textbook) to support your writing and presentation. You need a bibliography page. This bibliography page in your Power Point should be your last page and it MUST BE IN CHICAGO MANUAL OF STYLE (CMS). The Power Point document is due in D2L per the schedule on the syllabus. Wikipedia, blogs, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and similar sites are NOT TO BE USED IN COLLEGE.
