Several explanations for racial and ethnic inequality exist including Biological Inferiority, Cultural Deficiencies, and
Structural Problem. Cultural Deficiencies says that,
O people of color are naturally less intelligent and have other innate flaws that keep them from getting a good education and otherwise
doing what needs to be done to achieve the American Dream
O racial and ethnic inequality is due to structural problems, including institutional and individual discrimination, a lack of opportunity in
education and other spheres of life, and the absence of jobs that pay an adequate wage
O people of color have deficiencies including a failure to value hard work and a lack of strong family ties that account for poverty and
other problems facing these minorities
