ABC is a multispecialty hospital with an existence of more than 20 years in the city. Patients were complaining about the long waiting time before they could see physicians. According to a survey 35% of complaints were regarding long waiting time. A team was formed to deal with this issue. Data was collected and it was observed that average wait time of patients was 42 minutes after entering the hospital. Hospital was losing patients to nearby clinics and other hospitals. In ABC, the patient first enters the hospital, then the patient goes to registration counter and stand in a queue to get a card that contains the patient's information. Then the patient makes the payment. After the payment is made, the patient goes to doctor's assistant and submit the card. Finally, the patient meets the doctor. Assume you are a six sigma consultant. Use DMAIC method to improve the process and describe each step clearly.
