Power, the ability to control the behavior of others, takes differentorms. Force which the Italian statesman Machiavelli called "the method of beasts," is the use of physical coercion. Another type of power is authority, which is the power behind the laws and rules of society. influence is also a form of power. when a person is able to control the behavior of others beyond any authority he has to do so, that is influence at work.
