Language is a valuable tool that promotes understanding and social relations among members of a community. It might, however, also have unfavorable effects and increase societal disputes and tensions. Specific to each ethnic and cultural category within a culture, language promotes unity in society and promotes cultural development. Different languages and communication styles have a big impact on different social groups, contributing to the social hierarchy that is primarily shaped by speech patterns and social class.
