Jones and Brown start from two points, which are 375 miles apart and travel toward each other. The latter travels twice as fast as the former. They meet in 5 hours. Find the rates per hour.

I put it in the boxes like my teacher did but I am not sure I am doing it correctly. I came up with Jones =25mph
Brown = 50 mph

Let x be the rate per hour for Brown;
Then 2x is the rate per hour for Jones;
We have the equation: 375 = 5 * ( 2x ) + 5 * x ;
=> 375 = 10x + 5x;
=> 375 = 15x;
=> x = 375 ÷15;
=> x = 25mph ;
=> 2x = 50mph.
