What term is used to define the United States’ rank in the world community?

Answer :

Gibbs
The terms often used to describe the United States' position or rank in the international system is hegemon, hegemony, or super power.  All of these words signify the idea that the U.S. following the fall of the Soviet Union became the most powerful state in the international system thus signifying its rise to hegemony or super power status in that no other state could match its military and economic strength.

Hegemony, or a super-power, would be the modern term to describe the rank of the United States compared to the rest of the world. In general productivity the U.S needs many ingredients and imports from other countries. But because of their political "utopias" and freedom ideals, many countries strive to "americanize" their government, and make their markets capitalism.
Hope this helps!
