Jacksonian Democracy was a government led by a strong president that challenged the other Branches of Government specifically Congress (B). Jacksonian Democracy was also a period of time that constituted an era of increased participation of the "common man" in American politics.

A government led by a strong president and that challenged the other Branches.

Further Explanation:

The Jacksonian Democracy was built on certain principles that aimed at strengthening the position of the President that would be backed by strong, loyal supporters within the U.S. Congress. President Jackson sought to build his presidency on the liberal democratic trends that were established by his predecessor, Thomas Jefferson while expanding the reach of various government organizations into numerous public domains. However, President Jackson did not give much importance to placing government control in the hands of educated government officials but placed primary emphasis on building a loyal party culture by supposedly awarding ‘government positions’ to his most loyal supporters. By this, he attempted to build a strong group of loyalists, that would help in getting all of his policies passed without any hindrance.

President Jackson believed that the executive branch should be granted more powers with respect to that of the Congress, and thereby sought to build his position by relaxing all criteria that would be required for getting voting rights. He also believed that the voting mechanisms should be used to democratically elect the judges of the Supreme Court, who were previously appointed. During his reign, many provisions of state constitutions were re-written to reflect the principles of his presidency. Perhaps the most famous aspect of his Presidency also notoriously known as the ‘spoils system’ was crucially used to systematically consolidate his position within the Presidency. He systematically replaced the Jeffersonian politicians and replaced them with his own supporters, and introduced the system of rotation in civil services, so as to prevent anyone officer from overtly gaining too much power.
