How did the invention of the cotton gin affect slavery in the United States? I just want a short answer. I need some help getting started. I have to write the paragraph but i would like an idea.

Answer :

Gibbs
The invention of the cotton gin affected slavery because this new invention made the separation process for cotton much easier. When cotton is picked it must be separated from its seeds and the cotton gin did this in a mechanized way thus increasing the potential output of cotton fields and increasing the overall supply of cotton. As the cotton gin helped the cotton industry boom, there was a much higher demand for slavery.
