By the beginning of  1700, the number of settlers was increasing rapidly, especially all along the coats of New England and Chesapeake bay. Native Americans who were located in the west of these areas mostly benefited from the contacts they had with the Europeans. They often had scrimmages and other conflicts with them, and the relationships were sometimes good and other times were not.  

Unfortunately, the increasing appetite for new land by the European Settlers seriously affected the Native Americans way of life, thus becoming the most destructive force they had to face. This intense competition for land is the correct true statement in this question.  

Even though the new technology brought by new settlers had a positive effect  on the lives of Native Americans, it did not measured to the catastrophic lost of land they had to endured.
