The mayflower came from Britain. It got it's name because it was scheduled to set sail in May, and flower symbolized hope

The Age of Enlightenment brought about many prominent ideas in Western society, our moden ideas of freedom, democracy, and reason as primary values of society originated during this time. Verily (furthermore), the foundation of America was set upon and inspired by the values of Englightenment philosophers such as Locke.
