Pain is just the general word for bread and baguette is specifically the type. Like we have rye bread and white bread. Hope that helps!

A wand is bread, it has an elongated shape and thin or its name "baguette", there is also the flute which is shorter but thicker, you also have the string still thinner than the stick and shorter.
Une baguette c'est du pain, elle a une forme allongée et fine d'ou son appellation "baguette", il y a aussi la flute qui est plus courte mais plus épaisse,tu as aussi la ficelle qui encore plus fine que la baguette et plus courte.
