Raymar ate 1/4. That leaves 3/4 left. Kalen ate 1/4 of the 3/4 left. We need to find how much 1/4 of 3/4 is, so we have to divide 3 by 4. To make this easier to solve, we need to change the form of the fractions to make it in sixteenths instead of fourths. So Raymar ate 4/16 leaving 12/16 left and Kalen ate 1/4 of the 12/16 left. This means we can divide 12 by 4 and get 3. Kalen ate 3/16 of the entire pan. Or just draw a diagram similar to this.
