Trajan did not legalize Christianity. However, Trajan did build bridges, aqueducts and harbors, building many roads and was very fond of arches. One of the markets he built still stands today. He reduced the taxes by lessening the value of the currency, he also reduced the silver purity in the coin itself. His welfare program was called the Alimenta, which helped poor people and orphan with funds, along with general education and food. This was very philanthropic, however some critics state that it was to boost the population of Rome.
