Calcium hydroxide reacts with a substance to produce calcium carbonate
name the substance

Answer :

Calcium Hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) reacts with the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) present in the Air to form Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) and Water (H2O).

The equation looks something like this -->

Ca(OH)2 + CO2 = CaCO3 + H2O

Let the substance be p

CaOH + p = CaCO3

following the laws of chemical reactions and law of conservation of mass, p will be 1 atom of carbon dioxide and 2 atoms of oxygen. Thus, the p will be CO2.

Thus, CaOH + CO2 = CaCO3

Please note that during this process, water will also be produced.
