Alex bought twice as many pears as apples. He bought 4 more pears than oranges. He bought 6 apples.

How many oranges did Alex buy?

He bought 8 oranges. If he had 2x as many pears as he did apples, then that means he has 12 pears and if he bought four more pears then he did oranges (12-4) that means he has 8 oranges.
