session. A second, separate study is currently being designed to determine whether tea tree oil
also reduces itchiness in teenagers with eczema. The subjects in this new study will be one
hundred fifty male teenagers.

Part B: A group of researchers is considering changing the subjects in the study to 75 female
teenagers and 75 male teenagers, instead of just 150 male teenagers. Would the design you
created in Part A need to change? If so, explain how it would need to change. If not, explain why it

Part C: Is it possible to make this a double-blind study? Explain what you would need to do to
