They say ambition is a sin, but it was not my ambition that brought me to this. It was Macbeth’s own weakness!  He wavered, filled with doubt and fear.  Had he been the man I thought him to be, a man of action, we would be King and Queen and none would dare question our right.  But when he faltered, his guilt gnawed at him.  He became withdrawn, tyrannical, and suspicious.  The guilt that should have been his to bear became mine to carry.  No, my downfall was not of my own making. It was Macbeth’s descent into madness that undid us both.
