Answer :

During the election of 1936 declaring their party a millionaires union Franklin Roosevelt focused mainly on defeating the Alfred M. Landon of the Liberty League. The Union Party candidate William Lemke was also a candidate but was truly never in contention for the presidency.  Lemke was simply running in the race for presidency due to his disagreement with Roosevelt. This election gave Roosevelt the president by maximum number of votes in his favor since the election of 1820 which was almost an uncontested affair.
